About Alison
As a current master's student in cancer biology, I understand the pressures to achieve academic success. I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment to help learners surpass their academic goals. I would want students to comfortably ask as many questions necessary until they are confident in the material.
During my bachelor's degree, I was on the Dean's Honour Roll for
3 years and have learned which study techniques yield the best results. As a current master's student, I pride myself on the success of the students I teach and want to share my love of science.
Outside of academia, I also enjoy playing piano, baking, and watching bad 90's sitcoms.

I believe the use of visual aids, active recall studying, and timed breaks makeup the foundation of academic success.
I can teach high school-level science and biology, and university-level biology. During my undergraduate degree, I specialized in cell, molecular biology, and genetics. However, I am also experienced in microbiology, histology, botany, evolution, virology, and immunology.
A typical lesson plan consists of explaining new content, guided practice, then ending the session with the students summarizing their learning to ensure a complete handle on material.
