About Emily
My dance journey began at sixteen in a Ballroom dance class at my local community college. There, I spent eight years studying Ballroom and Latin dance, performing in dance shows each semester. After my first year, I was recruited by Cuban dance group EnRuedaMeMas for a dance performance and danced with them until 2016. In 2017, I moved to San Francisco to join Rueda Con Ritmo, who I have performed with on and off since moving to the Bay Area.

Lessons begin with a five to ten minute warmup to loosen the joints and become attuned to the musical elements (tempo, rhythm, instruments) our lesson will be focusing on for the session. Then, the theme for the session will be introduced, along with any body mechanics and partnering techniques that will be utilized for instruction. Dance patterns, based on session theme and dancer level, will be the bulk of the lesson. To close, a session recap and opportunity to film the instructor and/or dancers reviewing content will be provided during the last five minutes of instruction.
