About Ivy
As a committed piano tutor, I aim to make learning music enjoyable, practical, and inspiring for every student. I hold both a Bachelor’s degree in Music, giving me strong knowledge of theory and performance. I have taught beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students preparing for exams, recitals, and competitions. My lessons are student-centered, tailored to each student’s individual goals, abilities, and learning style. I use real-life examples and case studies to explain rhythm, melody, and harmony in ways that connect to everyday experiences. Motivation is central, and I help students set goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements. Problem-solving is an essential part of my teaching, encouraging critical thinking and independence. I emphasize integrity, creating a safe, honest, and supportive environment where students can experiment and learn from mistakes. I am highly flexible, adapting lessons to the student’s pace, interests, and objectives. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and composition to give students a well-rounded musical education. I prepare students for exams, competitions, and performances while nurturing creativity, confidence, and discipline. Lessons are available online or in-person for learners of all ages. I focus on technical proficiency, artistic expression, and lifelong appreciation for music. Each lesson is engaging, motivating, and rewarding. I teach piano with a focus on making every lesson meaningful, practical, and inspiring. My approach is based on real-life examples and case studies, which help students connect musical concepts to everyday life. For instance, rhythm can be related to natural movements like walking, speaking, or even sports, and harmony can be compared to teamwork or the blending of colors in art.
I strongly emphasize motivation, helping students set achievable goals, track their progress, and celebrate every small success to build confidence and a lifelong love for music. Problem-solving is a central part of my teaching, guiding students to analyze challenges independently, develop critical thinking skills, and approach music with curiosity and confidence. I value integrity in all lessons, creating a respectful, honest, and supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and learning from mistakes. I also incorporate flexibility in my lessons, tailoring every session to the student’s age, level, goals, and interests, whether they are preparing for exams, performances, or learning for personal enjoyment. In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and basic composition, so students gain a full understanding of music. Lessons are offered online or in-person and are suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. My ultimate goal is to help students develop technical skill, express themselves creatively, and enjoy every step of their musical journey while fostering independence, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the art of music.
