About Kaj
I have a great passion for math, the thrill of overcoming a problem or concept has always been present. I took maths, further maths, physics and English literature at A-level (achieving 4A*s), and I’m currently completing the first year of my Maths MSci. I hope to pursue a career in mathematical research and hopefully lecture in the future. My main interests currently lie in geometry, topology and Newtonian mechanics. Puzzles are my 'thing' and I've always enjoyed forming solutions to complex problems and sharing my passion for maths whether through education or research is my goal. As an individual, I'm an avid pianist, guitarist and love all things sports related. I'm a proud cat father, music and movie buff and an international level bridge player.

Having tutored GCSE students before, lessons are focused on encouraging the student to overcome the conceptual hurdles
of abstract ideas in math rather than focusing on a knowledge based approach. Being a current student, oxbridge applicant and having experience tutoring students of varying ability (which includes experience with SEN students), tailoring lesson plans to individual needs is my priority, as a 'onesize fits all' attitude rarely (if ever) works when it comes to education. That's why my approach will focus on engaging and easy to understand and apply methods to improve problem solving skills and exam technique for maths and physics. While I may not have a degree, I do believe I have the advantage of recently studying course content for the CCEA syllabus. As a current student, approachability and the ability to relate, from experience, can enhance the tutoring process. Retrieval practice and quizzing also remains key to my lesson approach to ensure that a mathematical muscle memory is retained.
