About Violet

As a piano tutor with 6 years of experience, I enjoy helping students discover the creative power of jazz piano. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology (Piano History), which deepens my understanding of piano traditions and jazz harmony. My teaching focuses on improvisation, comping techniques, and developing harmonic sophistication.

Students explore advanced chords, creative phrasing, and expressive improvisation. Lessons combine jazz theory, ear training, transcription practice, and rhythmic development. These tools strengthen both listening skills and musical creativity. Every session balances structure with freedom.

I have guided learners from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate, including Professional and Expert jazz musicians. My goal is to help each student build confidence and artistic voice. Jazz piano is a journey of discovery and creativity. Let’s begin exploring spontaneous musical expression together.

About the lesson

My piano teaching approach encourages students to develop both technical skill and creative expression. I help learners understand important piano fundamentals such as technique, rhythm, chord progressions, and musical phrasing. These skills provide the base for songwriting and composition. Students learn how to compose melodies and connect them with expressive harmonies.

Lessons also explore how to build musical themes and create engaging intros and outros. Students practice organizing their musical ideas into clear structures. Creativity is always encouraged, but guided with practical musical understanding. This helps learners confidently develop their own compositions.

For students who connect with music emotionally, I offer supportive guidance and space for creative exploration. I also work closely with learners interested in rich harmony and improvisational ideas often heard in jazz piano. Each lesson strengthens creativity and confidence. Students gradually turn ideas into complete musical works. Over time, their musical voice becomes clearer and more expressive. With patience and practice, you will begin composing music that reflects your unique identity.
