About Ashna

I wasn’t born to ‘Just Teach’. I was born to inspire, polish young minds and to never give up even when came across challenges that seem impossible. I have been extremely passionate about teaching since my childhood and so it has always been my ultimate goal. I am a highly dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional with 4 years of experience in English Teaching, committed towards the social and academic growth & development of the learners. My key skills include excellent spoken, written & listening skill, excellent planning, organizing; time management skills, creative skills and ideas for planning practical and interesting lessons (activity based) and great critical thinking, imaginative skills. I am a very calm-minded person and handle classroom scenario with a lot of patience and openness wherein, I give the opportunity to my students to share their responses and provide them with a comfortable environment so that they do not hesitate to ask their queries related to the lesson taught. Also, according to me, being fair is the most important quality that a teacher must hone as by not being one students can feel demotivated which can further hamper their overall growth. It is a must for a teacher to consider every learner of the classroom to be important and appreciation pattern must be uniform for all. During my previous tenure of teaching at Chitkara University and Strawberry Fields High School, I experienced immense inner happiness by witnessing my students’ growth & success. Their appreciative words for my constant guidance, motivation and efforts make me work on my students with a lot more passion and dedication. I was successfully able to mentor and polish more than 1000 students of different age groups with successful results (majorly 90-95% in my subject). As mentioned by my students and their parents, my approach and method of teaching surely brings out the best in them and helps them in their overall growth with regard to maximum learning and outstanding results. In addition to that, I have an extensive experience of organizing, hosting and judging various Public Speaking Competitions and Events such as Open House Discussion, Debates and Impromptu speeches such as Pictionary and Flip. As a Faculty of Chitkara University Toastmasters Club, I mentored the students of the club for 3 years, prepared them for different Inter-Department and Inter-University Competitions such as Debates, Speeches, Ted Talks, etc., and giving constant detailed feedbacks surely have helped them become creative, spontaneous and confident speakers.
