About Paul
First sessions begin with a diagnostic assessment to establish your starting point. I look for the small habits that might be holding back your tone production. Tuning by ear is a skill we refine together.
We use the assessment results to create a custom practice plan. Spiccato bowing requires patience and specific motion.
Whether you are prepping for a Trinity exam or just refining your orchestral playing, we move at your pace. Staccato becomes manageable when you break the motion into smaller segments. It is quite rewarding to hear your sound open up as we clear these technical blocks.

Playing music requires a connection between the mind and the instrument. My narrative is rooted in 9 years of performing across Quebec. I have taught 320 students ranging from teens to advanced learners. Returning learners often need a bridge between their past training and current goals.
Being a first-gen Franco-Canadian has taught me the value of persistence in the arts. My MMus degree serves as the foundation for my technical advice.
I understand the quiet frustration of a shifting position or a stiff wrist. Teaching allows me to share the joy of a resonant string. This work is a core part of who I am.
