About Delphine

My background in the performing arts started at the Art’s Educational School. I have professional qualifications in Drama and Psychology, Occupational Therapy and the Alexander Technique (AT). After qualifying in AT, I worked for a number of years as a Teacher Trainer on Misha Magidov’s North London Teacher Training Course, before becoming a member of the training team at Anthony Kingsley’s ATTS in central London. I am fully CRB checked and a member of the health professions council. I am a registered Teacher with the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT). I have a busy practice in Crouch End, North London, and my pupils travel from many local areas, such as Highgate, Muswell Hill, Finsbury Park, Stroud Green, Hornsey, Hampstead Alexandra Palace and Finchley, as well as from central and North London Teacher & Researcher of Alexander Technique I really enjoy working with my private clients in Crouch End, North London, and working as a resident Alexander Teacher [of AT Teachers] at Alexander Teacher Training School. They both are important to me. My experience in AT has also given me the opportunity to run AT workshops in adult education institutes. In addition, through links with my senior NHS posts, I’ve been able to collaborate on an innovative research project on the benefits of Alexander Technique for people with M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. I was also invited to lecture on the Alexander Technique to the Osteoporosis Society at the Royal Free Hospital. Applications of Alexander Technique Through practice and study, I have been able to develop a specialised knowledge in the application of the Alexander Technique to musicians and work with many young musicians from the Royal Academy of Music

My name is Delphine Miller and I have been teaching the Alexander Technique for over 25 years, since 1996, after qualifying from a three-year full-time professional training course at the North London Teacher Training School. ATTS (Alexander Teacher Training School) I am a registered Teacher with the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT). In the last 20 years I have been also working as a resident teacher trainer and recently a deputy head, of a three-year course at the ATTS school in central London, for people who want to train to become Alexander Technique Teachers. I am assistant head of The Alexander Technique teacher Training school. I am passionate about teaching the Alexander Technique to all ages, and abilities and have a busy private practice in Crouch End and Central London. I maintain a broad interest in health and well-being, having worked at a senior level in the NHS as an Occupational Therapist. I have a busy Alexander Technique Teaching practice in North London, Crouch End, teaching all ages, and my pupils travel from many local areas, such as Hampstead (nw3) Highgate (N6) Muswell Hill (N10), Finsbury (N4) Park Bounds Green; Stroud Green, Enfield, Hornsey, Wood Green (N22) Alexandra Palace and Finchley (N2) as well as from central and North London. The Alexander Technique is a powerful method of releasing poor postural habits and re-educating the mind and body in everyday activities. It is a unique and life-changing self-help tool that can be learnt and applied to everyday life. The Technique can address the root of many pains and disorders, which are caused by ongoing postural misuse of the body. It can be applied to many everyday activities, such as using a computer, walking, driving, and in sports. The Alexander Technique is also especially useful in recovery from injury and illness. Alexander Technique can also in addition provide valuable early intervention for children, and teenagers by addressing stress-related and postural misuse in daily activities.
