About Swati

My first experience with the Spanish language, as an Indian, was when I found myself living in Portugal for 3 years. Enrolled in an IB school, it became necessary for me to learn Portuguese—till I found its much more palatable cousin—the Spanish language. I chose the Spanish AB course for my IB diploma and having a very supportive Peruvian teacher—I quickly felt very comfortable with the language. I continued my linguistic journey in Delhi—at the Instituto de Cervantes to gain a diploma and have since taught the language to beginners on and off. Being a non-native speaker, it makes it easy for me to understand what areas of learning the language feel more difficult, for example diction, and I'm able to solve the language learning hurdles thinking from the perspective of a student. In the world and times of DuoLingo, I believe having a teacher like I did—someone to talk to who understands the level of your learning is what enables one to actually pick up a language.

About the lesson

If you are a school student, college student, or adult beginner who wants to learn Spanish but feels overwhelmed by grammar, vocabulary, and endless memorization, my beginner Spanish classes are designed to make learning simple, practical, interactive, and enjoyable.

Interactive activities: Games, role-plays, short dialogues, quizzes, and challenges keep every lesson engaging.

Personalized learning: I adapt my pace and explanations to your level, learning style, and goals.

Regular revision: New vocabulary and concepts are reinforced naturally so you remember them for longer.

What Does a Typical Class Look Like?
A typical lesson might begin with a quick warm-up and revision, followed by a new topic or vocabulary. We then practice it through speaking activities, examples, dialogues, or a real-life situation. The class ends with a short recap and a simple task to help you continue practicing between lessons.

So you won't just leave the class knowing what a Spanish word means—you'll know how and when to use it.
