About James
I am a 27 year old PhD student at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. My current research revolves around sports technology and engineering the next generation of artificial turf systems for sports surfaces.
I obtained a BSc. in Physics from East Stroudsburg University in 2018 undertaking courses such as Calculus (I,II,III), Quantum Physics, Astrophysics, Theoretical Mechanics and more. During my time at ESU I also played for the university's soccer team and learned to balance my time between academics and sport.
In 2020 I jumped across the pond to pursue a MSc. in Physics of Materials at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom where again I was also playing soccer for one of the university teams (when COVID wasn't interfering). During my year long course I attended lectures on material characterization techniques, nanomaterials, and mathematical techniques for solving physical problems.
Upon taking a short break to travel around Europe a bit, I eventually began my PhD last october back at Loughborough University.

What I have learned throughout my education in physics is there are numerous ways to look at and attack a problem, everyone thinks and learns differently.
As such my approach is to learn about my students and determine what type teaching works best for them.
I like to ask many questions to the students to better understand their thought process and will rarely give a straight answer.
It is my ultimate goal that my students will obtain the correct answer through with minimal input from myself.
My typical lessons will consist of mainly solving problems as I believe practice and staying organized are keys to being successful.
