About Jessica

- What kind of experience do you have?

I started my tutoring career teaching the sixth form weekend school at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I loved running the drama club alongside my training, and since moving to London in 2010 I have been tutoring regularly, with students aged between 11 and 50. In that time I have had many successful Drama School applicants and LAMDA exam candidates. I have also taught English, History and academic drama before specialising in performance coaching.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I took my undergraduate degree at Oxford University, gaining a First Class B.A. Hons in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology. I then trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, one of the most prestigious drama schools in the world, and also attended some additional training at the RSC. Many of my skills, however, have been learnt from 8 years as a working actress.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I have several regular students alongside my show commitments, including several I have been teaching for almost five years. I have students on their first LAMDA exams and also those applying to Drama schools. My record of getting students into drama school is impeccable - every student I have helped apply has been successful.

About the lesson

I'm a professional Actor, currently living and working in London. I've been working as an actor for the past 8 years, having trained at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach acting and audition technique, coaching a number of students successfully through LAMDA and Guildhall Exams and Drama School applications. I also teach public speaking and coach in presentation and confidence, and find that drama lessons can be very beneficial to children and adults alike.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

Oxford University, B.A. Hons. 1st Class, Classical Archaeology and Ancient History

- How much do you charge?

I charge £40 per hour

- Where do you teach?

I teach in my light and airy studio space in Hornsey, but I can also travel within reasonable distances!

- When are you available?

I work a show schedule at present, so whilst I am in the theatre most evenings, I have plenty of flexibility and availability during the day.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach from 12 years onwards, with no upper limit!

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I have experience of teaching over skype and am happy to do so if needs be, but for most of my work coaching in person is preferable.
