About Jason
I began playing and studying over 35 years ago in and around Portland, Maine. In the 90's I played in concert and jazz bands and eventually formed my own alt-rock project that didn't last very long, but was fun and I learned a lot! I practiced heavily all through college and eventually formed a math-metal band called audioblacK that spent almost ten years playing all over New England and sharing the stage with major acts like Mudvayne and Seether. I also began playing for a theatre troupe called Vivid Motion who asked me to join as a percussionist. Within a year I was writing and arranging pieces and moved up to lead drummer. I was certified in music education in 2012 and, after moving to Canada in 2015, have been teaching steadily in-home and in-studio lessons with students of all ages and experience levels.
