About Lisa
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am an Early Childhood Educator with a degree in Early Childhood Studies. I have been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for 7 years in various settings. Currently, I work in a local school board supporting children in JK and SK. I have taught this age group in person and online and I am well-versed in both formats. I am proficient in supporting children in literacy and math from JK to grade 1. However, I am only offering literacy at this time and may expand in the near future. My experience in the school board means I am familiar with the learning expectations for kindergarten to grade 1 and I can support your child to ensure they are successful in following the program requirements.

I utilize the UFLI literacy program to facilitate early reading, comprehension, writing and spelling.
A typical UFLI lesson consists of proper letter formation of written letters, mouth positioning (where the tongue should rest, lip positions, breath required to make sounds) to say letter sounds accurately, decomposing words using hand/arm motions as a visual, reading stories using newly learned words and discussing each part of a story to encourage reading comprehension, as well as providing at-home practice sheets and reading to further develop literacy skills.
