About Tola

I'm currently studying BSc Economics at University College London (UCL), one of the UK’s top universities. Having recently completed my A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Economics with top grades, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them with the right support. I’m passionate about teaching because I know how powerful it can be to have someone explain things clearly and patiently. Tutoring gives me the chance to help students not only improve their grades, but also grow in confidence and develop a genuine interest in the subject. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and progressing at their own pace. Whether you're aiming for top marks or trying to build your understanding from the ground up, I’m committed to helping you reach your full potential.

About the lesson

As an Economics undergraduate at UCL, I combine subject expertise with a student-focused approach to help learners achieve their academic goals. My lessons are structured but flexible, tailored to each student’s individual learning style and exam board requirements. I focus on building strong foundations through clear, step-by-step explanations and active questioning. I incorporate spaced repetition, exam technique, and real-world examples to make lessons more engaging and relevant. Whether it’s breaking down abstract concepts in economics or strengthening core skills in maths, I aim to boost both understanding and confidence. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but I can adapt the length and intensity depending on the student’s needs and attention span. I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Economics and Maths, working with students aged 14–18, including those aiming for top grades or needing to catch up. My sessions are ideal for students who want to improve exam technique, clarify difficult topics, or push towards A/A* outcomes.

I was struggling in Maths and Science and he took time out of his schedule to give me extra lessons in order to boost my confidence and ability. He is patient, friendly and most importantly very knowledgeable. His examples are thorough and he gives regular homework in order to ascertain your level of understanding. He is also very reliable - he never missed a lesson in the year he taught me. I recommend him as he is a great tutor that any student would be lucky to have - he was a big reason why I went from a 6 to a 9 in my GCSEs.
