About Lucy
I have 24 years work experience in the financial services sector and graduated from Edinburgh University with an Honours Maths degree. I have been tutoring for a few years now and have helped a number of pupils achieve A and B results from previous fails.
I have always been interested in tutoring and have volunteered with early readers for a number of years. I have helped out with my local Scout Group and during the pandemic started tutoring pupils to help them catch up. I enjoy seeing students really grasp mathematics and start to enjoy the subject. Achieving A's or B's from previous fails has been a real bonus for me. Seeing the journey the pupils take when they come to me for tutoring and the progress they make is very rewarding. I am fully PVG checked and Basic Disclosure Checked.

A lesson lasts for 45 minutes at Nat 5 level and an hour for Higher pupils, I am happy to double up on sessions closer to exam time. I have a focus on exam preparation and technique to give my pupils the best chance of success in their exams and my pupils have achieved excellent exam results over the last couple of years.
I make each lesson unique to every pupil and focus on areas of weakness. I look at the type of questions that will be asked during exams with my pupils and make sure that I give plenty of examples during lessons and for pupils to practise at home. I primarily tutor students sitting their Nat 5 or Higher maths exams (14 years and above).
