About Kalyn
Hi! I love reading, and believe increased literacy is important at all levels, as it supports all types of learning. I have three young children and 5+ years experience tutoring in diverse subjects. Following the completion of my Bachelor's degree in English with Honours from the University of Calgary, I worked with young adults on essay formation, reading comprehension and on various projects in my role as Library Assistant at RDP (formerly Red Deer College). I have also tutored children in reading ability, in English and French (all grades). I'm happy to work with you or your child over a sustained period of time, or on a one-off project basis (ie. final essay, PAT prep, help with French grammar, increased vocab, etc.). Can't wait to chat and see if we'd be a good fit!

The focus is on you; what you're learning, reading, and might be struggling with - I'm happy to jump in at any point to offer guidance and instill confidence in your abilities as a reader and writer with a unique voice. Whether you need help with a novel study, tips to break down essay writing, or want to understand what Shakespeare is going on about, my background in studying English literature and working with adults old and young is what I have to offer. You can expect to have your literary questions answered, concrete progress made on projects and homework, and maybe to even start to like this subject!
