About Paul
Emeritus Professor of mathematics of British origin, retired, I have held positions at MIT in the United States, at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in Paris, at the University of Melbourne and at the Australian National University in Australia and at the University of Brest in France. Of rank "Professeur de Classe Exceptionnelle" before retiring in September 2022, I was in charge of the mathematics degree in Brest from 2018-22. In France, I supervised internships for secondary school students from age 13. I would like to share my passion for math with motivated pupils/students from age 11.

Emeritus Professor of British origin, retired, I have taught math from secondary to higher, notably at MIT in the United States, at the University of Melbourne in Australia and in France for about forty years. Mastering math requires mental gymnastics, which sets it apart from other fields, and sometimes makes the subject difficult. It is not enough to memorize the facts. My teaching method will encourage creativity - it is important not to skip and a point must be understood before moving on to the next step: the student must be able to explain the concept to someone else. Autonomy of work is vital, especially by offering several well-chosen exercises. I would like to continue to share my passion for math by teaching courses at all levels from secondary.
