About Crystal

I am a recent Environmental Engineer grad who has tutored other students in the past. I graduated high school and university with Honours (80% average). I can teach math up to 2nd year university classes (University classes include: Linear Algebra, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Vector Calculus, and Differential Equations).

My lessons last for an hour on average, and can be adjusted to better suit the student!

About the lesson

Any math problem can be broken down into smaller, simpler math problems, and it's understanding these foundational steps that make math a breeze. By using demonstrations, explanations, and examples, any subject can be easily grasped and elaborated upon. The goal is for the student to solve their problems independently in testing and real-life school situations.

While our first lesson is always free, I usually will not teach the student during it due to having a limited scope of the student’s issue. I will usually spend the first lesson learning more about what their school is teaching before I am able to help them, and if possible, getting examples of the questions they struggled with.

After that initial session, I usually book a follow-up actual tutoring session a few days or a week later, depending on the student’s schedule. This gives me time to put together an education plan to help the student.

Perfect! Crystal aided our son to navigate his way through grade 11 calculus. He was failing miserably before we connected with Crystal. His teacher had no time to actually teach what she was handing out and there was no text book. It was not helpful either that it had to be done her way. Crystal had our son send his work weekly to her as well as marked work so she knew exactly what was expected. She was patient, knowledgeable and consistent. We are grateful to have her aid and will be utilizing her services again for his grade 12 year, even if he ends up with a different teacher. She is worth more than what she is charging.

Christine and her son were both super accommodating with my schedule, and paid me way more than what I had initially asked! They were both very kind and Tristin was very eager to learn! Tristin was already incredibly bright, and by re-solidifying his understanding of the basics, and giving him small pushes in the right direction, he was able to achieve so much! Tristin was the perfect student, and I look forward to seeing him again next fall!
