About Neill

Who Am I? I am an engineering graduate with an Honours Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Information Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the core principles of STEM subjects, especially maths. I have always been passionate about learning and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others. Why Do I Want to Teach? I want to teach because I believe that education is the key to unlocking potential, and maths is a subject that can empower students in so many ways. Throughout my life, I’ve seen how patience, encouragement, and practice can transform a student’s confidence in their abilities. By tutoring, I aim to: • Help students develop a solid understanding of maths fundamentals. • Show them that success is achievable through effort, not just innate talent. • Foster a love for problem-solving and critical thinking that they can carry into other areas of their lives. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—whether it’s helping a student achieve top grades or simply showing them that they are capable of more than they believe. For me, tutoring is more than just teaching maths; it’s about helping students build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.

My approach is built on patience, adaptability, and creating a positive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and tackle challenges head-on. 1. Tailored Lessons: • I adapt each session to the student’s unique learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. • Whether it’s simplifying complex concepts or focusing on exam techniques, my goal is to meet the student where they are and help them progress. 2. Building Confidence: • I emphasise mastering the fundamentals of maths, as this creates a strong foundation for tackling more advanced topics. • Through consistent practice and encouragement, I aim to help students feel more confident and capable. 3. Interactive and Engaging: • I make lessons engaging by incorporating real-world examples and problem-solving strategies. • Using tools like online whiteboards and interactive resources, I ensure that sessions are dynamic and interactive. 4. Focus on Goals: • Whether the goal is improving grades, boosting exam performance, or simply gaining a better understanding of maths, I work with the student to set clear, achievable objectives. • Progress is tracked regularly to ensure we’re on the right path. 5.
