About Finlay
Over my maths "career" I have achieved top grades throughout all my exams, including studying Further Maths A-Level, and obtaining top marks and invitations to higher levels in the British Maths Olympiad. I am now studying for a Masters Degree in Engineering in Newcastle.
I'm passionate about working with children and young people, and alongside my academics and tutoring work am a qualified and DBS checked Athletics coaching assistant.
I look forward to helping more students achieve to their full potential!

Being a student still, I understand how difficult the seemingly constant exam cycles can be for young people. At school level it can be difficult in a subject like maths to walk the line between the most detailed understanding of the subject, and being able to ace the exam - the two are not necessarily the same thing!
My lessons will be tailored to the syllabus the student is studying, and planned to assist with their work at school, not to clash with it and cause confusion.
Typical lesson length is 1 hour - however if a longer or shorter lesson suits the student's learning style better, I am happy to accommodate this.
