About Shaan

I am currently studying a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Commerce at UNSW, with a strong academic background in mathematics and sciences. I achieved 96 in Mathematics Extension 2, 96 in Mathematics Extension 1, 90 in Physics, 90 in Economics, and 87 in Chemistry, reflecting both consistency and depth across quantitative subjects.

I am a committed and professional tutor who understands the demands of senior high school and HSC-level study. Having recently completed these courses myself, I am highly familiar with current syllabus requirements, exam techniques, and common challenges students face. I approach tutoring with patience, clarity, and structure, ensuring students feel supported while being challenged to reach their full potential.

I pride myself on being reliable, well-prepared, and adaptable to each student’s learning style. My goal is not only to improve academic results, but also to build students’ confidence and independence in their studies.

About the lesson

I am a high-achieving HSC graduate specializing in Mathematics, with a strong academic record. I have experience tutoring Mathematics Extension 2, and I am passionate about helping students gain both confidence and mastery in their subjects.

My tutoring approach focuses on conceptual understanding first, followed by structured exam-style application. I break down complex ideas into clear, logical steps, ensuring students understand WHY methods work rather than just memorizing formulas. This is what helped me grasp complex topics so well. Lessons are highly interactive, with guided problem-solving, targeted questions, and exam tips tailored to the student’s level and goals. I also focus heavily on HSC-style questions, time management, and common mistake analysis.

A typical lesson runs for 60–120 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. Lessons usually include:
- Review of key concepts
- Worked examples
- Independent practice with guidance
- Exam-style questions and feedback

I tutor students from Years 9–12, particularly those studying Mathematics Advanced, Extension 1, and Extension 2, as well as senior students needing support in Physics, Economics, or Chemistry. My lessons are suitable for students aiming to improve foundational understanding as well as high-achievers targeting top HSC bands.

I am based in the Inner West and offer both online and in-person tutoring, with flexible scheduling to suit students’ commitments.
