About Raymond
I have just finished my third year studying Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering at Carleton University, which focuses more on the mechanical theory of green energy sources.
During my time at Carleton, I was a tutor for their peer mentoring program and I helped lower year students with material from courses that I had already completed. I gained experience ranging from solving a particularly difficult problem to re-teaching foundational concepts.
I also was a volunteer tutor at G.P. Vanier high school when I was a student there, teaching my fellow students while I was taking those very courses.
My areas of expertise are centred around mathematics and physics, but I also have experience in chemistry, electronics/circuits, python and CAD.

As an engineering student I am equipped to tutor in mathematics, and engineering courses up to second year university level as well as physics at a high school level.
My experience with my university's peer-to-peer tutoring program taught me that students often learn best solving example problems and using their knowledge and equations in practice. I believe that guiding the subject to solve the problems themselves by improving their understanding of the base material is essential for long term knowledge retention.
My lessons will typically consist of a brief theoretical overview of the material to establish where the student is at before guiding them through solve problems to apply their learning. The plan can however be customized to suit any particular needs.
