About Amanda
I’m Amanda Sangweni, an English teacher with 5 years of experience. I hold a degree in Education specialising in English, and an Honours degree in English and Media Studies. I have taught English as a Home Language, First Additional Language, and Second Language — and last year my ESL learners achieved a *97% pass rate for EHL*.
I’m interested in teaching because I’m passionate about understanding the challenges learners face with reading for comprehension, and finding practical ways to help them overcome them. I believe English is more than exams and grammar — it’s a tool for confidence, critical thinking, and self-expression.
Learners should choose me because I focus on understanding first. My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I use clear explanations, discussions, and practical activities to help concepts click. I’m committed to helping students improve their grades, build confidence in speaking and writing, and develop skills for life beyond the classroom. I am patient, and I celebrate progress at every step.
