About Avery
A typical session starts with you describing a real-life situation you encountered during your week. We record these moments to review later, as I provide weekly conversation recordings reviewed together for every student.
This process highlights your strengths and identifies exactly where we need to focus next for IELTS or TOEFL preparation. My background allows me to simplify reading comprehension and listening tasks for intermediate learners.
I use my 5 years of experience and formal education to adjust the material as we go. We prioritize clear communication above all else. This approach creates a steady path for students to follow. The process remains straightforward.

You likely want to bridge the gap between knowing vocabulary and actually using it in your daily life in a new country. Having taught 113 students, I understand the specific hurdles faced by immigrants and intermediate learners who need to navigate English in professional settings. I grew up in Montreal, which means I naturally pivot between French and English in my own life.
My 5 years of experience include a Licence from Université Laval and a CELTA qualification. I enjoy guiding adults through the complexities of phrasal verbs and writing tasks. It is rewarding to see learners gain independence in their conversations. I am simply here to assist as you navigate this transition.
