About Caroline

Hi! My name is Caroline and I'm a writer and tutor based in London. I studied Classics at uni, and then went on to get an MFA in Creative Writing, during which I wrote my first novel. As I pitch this to agents, I am also getting ready to start my PhD in Creative Writing. I write a lot of poetry, and run a poetry-in-the-post business called Words On Wings, which you can check out on Etsy. I tutor in Classics, English Lit and Creative Writing. In my spare time, I love going to the theatre, reading and writing, and eating good food!

About the lesson

Welcome! Doing GCSE or A-Level English Literature and are looking for a little extra help on one of your assigned texts? You've come to the right place! I have an A* in English Lit A-Level (Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, the poetry of John Keats, Poems of the Decade anthology, A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, Shakespeare's Othello, and an EPQ with Distinction on The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess). At GCSE (A*) I did An Inspector Calls, Of Mice and Men and Romeo and Juliet. I also have a degree in Classics, and tutor on The Odyssey, which is taught on some English Lit modules. Whatever the text, I can help you identify core themes, techniques and devices that will help you tackle any exam question.
