About Pamela
I attended The University of British Columbia, where I completed my Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. During my studies, I explored many topics and theoretical lenses for interpreting text, from Indigenous Literature and Classical Literature, to Psychoanalysis and Ecopoetics. I have a special interest in English Literature, but my focus these days tends to hold a psychoanalytic perspective. This perspective merges an understanding of the human psyche with literature, and questions how we can learn about our own unconscious lives through the collective stories we tell. My teachings draw on the knowledge I learned in University as well as my own investigation into literature and the human unconscious. I draw a lot of my understanding from the teachings of Carl Jung. However, I have a broad understanding of English Literature. And have a particular interest in the construction of a well-argued essay.

I look at English literature, with a particular focus on mythology and fairy tale. The theoretical lens I prefer to teach is a Jungian Psychoanalytic perspective, though I have a background in many analytical perspectives. Along with helping the student understand theory, I teach how to explore these ideas in essay writing format.
These lessons are designed for students in post-secondary education, or for anyone looking to broaden their knowledge on English literature.
