About Raphi
Hello! My name is Raphi and I am currently living in Dublin, Ireland. Prior to moving here, I worked as an English teacher in Japan for seven years. Although I graduated with a degree in Maths, I ended up teaching English because I genuinely love it! I've seen a lot of my former students better their situations and open new doors of opportunities because of their improved English skills and nothing gives me more joy than that.
I'd love to help you with your English too! We can take it easy in the lesson and enjoy having conversations, or we could also have a rather technical lesson focusing on grammar, syntax or proper language use. Whether you're a beginner- or intermediate-level English speaker, you're welcome to take my lesson!

When teaching English, I usually follow the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) method, wherein the lesson emphasizes more on interaction as a means to achieve the goal of improving one's English proficiency. That is, I try to engage in a conversation with the student as a way to help them improve their English ability.
I don't hold any qualifications to teach English, but I have a decade-long experience teaching English as a second language and I have taught students from as young as 10 to as old as 80 years old.
For one-on-one lessons, the session can be 1 to 2 hour long. It can be longer for a class with multiple students.
