My teaching methods are student-centred, where the first step is to formulate a consistent study plan, the second step is to design each class according to the student's current needs and the third and final step is to select the best possible authentic materials to use both during class and outside of class. The student is always involved in every teaching method and no class is fixed.
I have been giving private and group English lessons for 3 years, I specialise in English as a foreign language but started as a university tutor helping students writing their essays and preparing their oral presentations. Although I spent most of my college years studying science and doing research, currently I'm a full-time English teacher as I fell in love with teaching language, still having a scientific background works to my advantage every time.
Classes' rate is according to students level, e.g.: for beginner English level the rate will decrease to 15 dollars an hour.

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
English Teacher (Freelancer) March 2019 – June 2019
Lusófona University (Campo Grande – Lisboa - Portugal)
Designed a one semester English course specific for first year Aviation students. This was a
group of 30 students with different English levels. More than half the class had beginner to
intermediate English levels while only a few were more advanced, which made it difficult to
cater for all. As a result, a mixture of activities, that when difficult for beginner level students
and easy for advanced level students the peer system was used, were done to achieve the
course’s goal – to improve every students’ English level according to the six ICAO’s
(International Civil Aviation Organization) descriptors (Vocabulary, Structure, Pronunciation,
Fluency, Comprehension and Interactions). After a three-month Continuous Assessment course
and exam season all 30 students passed, where 20 excelled and were able to improve their
English level through Continuous Assessment, which included their attendance, test evaluation,
classroom work and project work.

Agile Training ((concealed information) Lisboa - Portugal)
Developed personalized Business English one-on-one and small group courses for both
Intermediate (B1 – B2) and Advanced (C1 – C2) levels according to the Common European
Framework of Reference (CEFR). These were two intense months of classes for three one-onone
and seven small groups (3 to 5 people), where course books, authentic materials and
supplementary resources were adapted to the students’ needs. Many of the students needed to
improve their fluency as to be able to formally present their ideas in conferences and business
meetings. With the use of the course book speaking exercises, authentic materials such as
articles from business magazines and supplementary resources such as TedTalks, group
discussions were facilitated. It was through self-correction of their own oral and written work
that all students successfully identified their strengths and weaknesses in specific language skill
areas as to then pass the proficiency tests done in class.
