About Emma
I have been working with children and young people for the past 17 years in different educational settings. I worked in Poland for the past 10 years teaching English as a foreign language but also tutoring children using the British curriculum for English keystage 1, 2 and 3. I have worked in Primary and Secondary schools where I have been preparing students for IB and other exams. Before I moved abroad I was teaching teenagers in a SEN school where I tutored the students on a 1:1 basis covering GCSE English Language and literature. I have studied teaching English to a degree level and am currently working towards my masters. Students who have studied with me have passed their exams with flying colours and many of my foreign students have gone on to study abroad using English. I'm able to tutor children, teenagers and adults. Currently I'm employed at a Language school in the city centre. My approach is fun and I like to play games to encourage creativity in my students. Reading, writing and grammar tasks don't need to be dry there are lots of ways to make the English language interesting and engaging and this is the main aim of my lessons. I feel students remember things and learn a lot more in a positive environment, filled with enjoyable activities and an approachable, friendly teacher.
