About Ivie
Hi, I’m Ivie! I’m a lawyer, Project Manager and MBA graduate with a passion for learning, communication and helping others develop their confidence.
I hold an LLB, BL, LLM and an MBA with Distinction, and my academic and professional journey has given me extensive experience with writing, presenting, researching and communicating complex ideas clearly.
I’m a friendly, patient and approachable tutor who understands that learning can feel intimidating, especially when you’re trying to speak a new language or improve an area you find challenging. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where you feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes and keep improving.
I believe that good communication can open doors, both personally and professionally. That’s why I focus on making my lessons practical, engaging and relevant to your everyday life and goals.

My teaching approach
I believe the best way to learn English is to use it, not simply memorize rules. My approach is practical, encouraging and personalized to each student. I take time to understand your goals, identify areas where you need support, and adapt my lessons to your level and learning style.
How my lessons work
A typical lesson begins with a short conversation or review of what we covered previously. We then focus on the main topic for the session, whether that is grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing or conversational English. I use examples, guided exercises and real-life scenarios to help you understand the concept and apply it naturally.
For speaking-focused lessons, we may work through conversations, role-play situations, pronunciation exercises and vocabulary-building activities. For writing, we can work together on sentence structure, grammar, clarity and organization. I also encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes because that is an important part of learning.
What sets me apart
Ivie brings a strong academic and professional background to her teaching. As a lawyer and MBA graduate, communication, writing, research and presenting ideas clearly have been an important part of her education and career.
I also understand that students learn differently. My goal is not simply to teach you English, but to help you become more comfortable and confident using it in real situations. I create a relaxed, judgment-free environment where you can learn at your own pace.
