Hello, and welcome! My name is Ada, and I am a dedicated English educator with nearly three years of professional tutoring experience and over eight years in international development. I specialise in English Education (ESL/ TESL) and hold a Bachelor’s degree in the field.

As a certified professional in Safeguarding & Child Protection Training and Paediatric First Aid, I bring both expertise and a commitment to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for every student. I also have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate on the UK's update service.

Beyond the classroom, I am deeply passionate about education, community engagement, and advocacy.

About the lesson

I'm passionate about helping students improve their English language skills and achieve their communication goals. My ESL tutoring approach focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable practising and developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities. I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, so I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs, learning style, and current proficiency level. I particularly enjoy working with students in the age ranges typically associated with Key Stages 2 and 3 (ages 7-14), helping them build a strong foundation in English for academic success and real-world communication. My ESL Teaching Methodology: Personalised Learning: I begin with a thorough assessment of your current English level, learning style, and specific goals (e.g., improving conversational fluency, preparing for an English proficiency exam, enhancing business English). Interactive and Engaging Lessons: I believe learning a language should be enjoyable! I incorporate a variety of engaging activities into my lessons, including conversation practice, role-playing, games, reading authentic materials, listening to podcasts/music, watching videos, grammar exercises, vocabulary-building activities, etc. Focus on Practical Communication: I emphasise practical communication skills that you can use in real-life situations. Building Confidence: I provide regular feedback and encouragement to build your confidence and motivation. Regular Assessment: I use quizzes, progress checks, mock exams, feedback on writing assignments, etc. to track your progress and identify areas where you might need additional support. Adaptive Teaching: I am flexible and adapt my teaching methods based on your individual needs and progress. A typical ESL lesson is 60 minutes but I can adjust this based on your needs and availability. My Qualifications and Experience: My Bachelor of Arts degree in Education/English further solidified my passion for education and provided me with a solid foundation in language instruction. My IELTS score of Band 8 demonstrates my own high level of English proficiency. I am also a registered teacher with the Teachers Registration Council. My Commitment to Student Well-being: I hold certifications in Safeguarding (Awareness), Safeguarding & Child Protection, and Paediatric First Aid, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all my students.
