About Laura
I am a wife and mother located in Canada. I am passionate about the opportunity to work from home and be here for my family.
From a young age, I have always dreamt of being a teacher and working online as an ESL teacher, helping people all over the world achieve their goals has been a dream come true.

I always spend a bit of time at the beginning of working with a new student getting to know them, their likes and dislikes, as well as their English abilities.
A typical lesson would include reading a story or news article, then translating the unfamiliar English words into the reader's own language. I encourage my students to make notes during class to create a reference of what they have learned so that they have study materials to review in between classes.
Students are welcome to bring their own stories or reading materials to class for us to review together.
I believe that I am different from other tutors because I don't use a cookie cutter approach to how I work with every student. I do my best to tailor the learning plan to each individual student's wants and needs.
I have been teaching English now for over 4 years and my students have ranged from 3 year olds, all the way up to adults working as doctors or business professionals. I have enjoyed working with kids over the years but I truly enjoy working with adults the most.
