About Martin
I have a very good cultural base, have worked in various environments here in Canada, Europe and the Middle East. My job resume includes experience in the sciences as I graduated with a bachelor degree in biochemistry in the late seventies, went to Italy to study medicine for several years and travelled and taught in England and Yemen too while based in Italy. Now back in Canada I have taught at private language schools, acted as a supply teacher for Stanislas school and worked in companies through some language schools.
What adds to my abilities are that I am a self-published author and poet former member of the Professional Writer's Group of Canada and have translated texts from the Italian and French into English. I obtained a TESOL certification in 2012,
Since I have good science background that has enabled me to to tutor the basic maths and sciences up until the grade 10 level.

For ESL I follow a formula whereby the student will speak more than I do. I will spend a quarter of my time on grammar, I quarter on reading/listening exercises and half on conversation unless the person wants more practice reading and listening. Writing exercise are also given and may substitute for part of the conversation time.
I have the ability to make the student feel comfortable at his or her language level, I have many, many years of experience working with all kinds of people in different work environments and can help person to pass an entrance examination, face an interview or get a job promotion.
My lessons are for different language levels, students who have just immigrated to Canada and people requiring English to obtain a diploma or degree.
