About Abhijit

I am Abhijit, a Senior Estimator working in commercial construction in Sydney. I have more than 15 years of experience in construction estimating, tendering, cost planning, quantity take-off and subcontractor pricing.

Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide range of commercial, retail, education and refurbishment projects, including projects valued up to $60M+. My day-to-day role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing tender estimates, comparing subcontractor quotes, identifying risks and helping builders submit competitive tenders.

I enjoy teaching practical estimating because I understand how difficult it can be for students, graduates, overseas engineers and tradespeople to enter the Australian construction industry. My goal is to explain estimating in a simple, clear and practical way, using real industry knowledge that students can apply with confidence.

I am patient, professional and supportive in my teaching approach. I focus on helping students build strong foundations, understand real project pricing and become more confident when applying for estimating or cost planning roles.

About the lesson

My name is Abhijit, and I teach practical construction estimating based on real industry experience, not just theory. My lessons are designed to help students understand how estimating works inside Australian construction companies.

I explain estimating step by step, including how to read drawings and specifications, measure quantities, prepare take-offs, compare subcontractor quotes, understand preliminaries, overheads, margins and tender pricing. I use practical examples so students can understand how builders price real projects.

A typical lesson runs for 1 to 2 hours, depending on the student’s level and learning goals. Weekend sessions are also available for people working full-time.

I am a Senior Estimator in commercial construction with over 15 years of experience, including pricing projects up to $60M+. My lessons are suitable for civil engineering students, construction management graduates, overseas engineers, tradespeople wanting to move into office-based roles, and junior estimators wanting to improve their confidence.
