About Robyn

I’m 20years old and a second year medical student from the university of Manchester. Being younger and having had lots of experience with young kids I am able to teach in an enjoyable and engaging way! I have tutored 3 students successfully through their 11+ now and I love watching them grow in confidence and ability in their maths.

About the lesson

I feel really comfortable with young children having volunteered with Year1s upwards and already tutored in KS2 and 3 extensivey. I think its important they enjoy, gain confidence and really grasp the basics in an encouraging environment. Mastering the foundations in maths is what will see them through. I've found using colours and diagrams keeps them excited and engaged for the sessions. Whilst exam practice is the best way to ensure success in the exams. Keeping parents involved is also crucial at this age, so I send out information on how sessions went, and any resources they might find useful to help them develop further with their child in between tutoring lessons.
