About Serena

My interest in Excel began when I discovered how it could streamline data analysis and decision-making. This inspired me to pursue a B.Sc in Finance and an M.Sc in Business Analytics, combining financial expertise with data skills. Over 7 years, I have guided learners to develop technical proficiency, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving confidence using Excel.

I emphasize clarity, structured learning, and practical application. Lessons involve scenario-based exercises, stepwise explanations, and iterative feedback, ensuring students build both skill and confidence. I encourage learners to explore, experiment, and understand principles deeply rather than memorize steps.

Outside the classroom, I stay updated on advanced Excel functions, data visualization trends, and automation techniques to enrich lessons. Watching learners gain mastery, efficiency, and confidence in handling complex datasets is immensely satisfying. My aim is to empower students to work smarter, analyze effectively, and leverage Excel’s full potential.

About the lesson

Excel becomes exciting when learners realize its power for organizing, analyzing, and visualizing data efficiently. My lessons cover formulas, functions, pivot tables, data visualization, conditional formatting, and macros. I focus on conceptual clarity, practical examples, and scenario-based exercises to ensure learners understand not only how to execute tasks but why each function works.

Lesson plans are adapted to skill level. Beginners develop basic data entry skills, formatting, and formula usage to build a solid foundation. Intermediate learners explore advanced functions, data modeling, pivot tables, and visual dashboards. Advanced learners tackle automation with VBA, complex analytics, and problem-solving challenges applicable to business or research contexts. Each session integrates guided exercises, stepwise explanations, and iterative feedback to strengthen mastery and confidence.
