About Nina

I began tutoring almost three years ago, and did so full time for the past year. I have fostered a collaborative, creative approach, and students appreciate my enthusiastic nature. This support enables them to progress in leaps and bounds, which has consistently been reflected in my students' improved results. I have a strong academic background, having achieved straight A*s at A-level, and I am keen to push my students to do the same! Most importantly, I have a real love of English, continuing this by studying Linguistics & Modern Languages at the University of Sheffield.

About the lesson

My English lessons are tailored to each student's needs. You can expect a personal approach based on identifying and strengthening weak points, which really helps to build confidence in exams.
I find teaching English essay structure to be a key concept that is all too often neglected in schools. My students will learn how to express themselves in a structured, eloquent manner, which can be applied to every aspect of the English exams. I also frequently zone in on specific works, finding ways to pique my students’ interest, as well as giving them that all-important understanding of the book and its themes.
At A-level, writing becomes more advanced, and my goal is to foster the critical thinking skills that facilitate high-level responses. I also understand the stress that coursework can bring, and I am happy to focus on taking this aspect of the exam to the next level.
