About Shanzay Zehra

Hi, I'm Shanzay! I am an incoming student at Sciences Po and have over three years of experience tutoring students aged 4–16. Throughout this time, I have helped pupils prepare for SATs, 11+ entrance examinations and GCSE Maths in both English and Urdu, working with students of a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

Having recently completed A-Levels in Mathematics, Economics and Computer Science, I understand the challenges students face when preparing for important exams and the importance of building confidence, as well as balancing understanding content and practising exam technique. My goal is to make learning engaging, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs.

I enjoy helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

My approach to 11+ tutoring is focused on building confidence, and helping students become familiar with the style and demands of entrance examinations. Every student has different strengths and areas for improvement, so I tailor lessons to their individual needs, target schools and academic goals.

For 11+ preparation, I can support students applying to both grammar and independent schools. I can help students prepare for all aspects of the standard 11+, including verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and spatial reasoning. For schools that use subject-specific entrance examinations, I also provide preparation in Maths and English, focusing on both core skills and exam technique.

Lessons last 60 minutes, and use practice questions and exam style papers to target practice. As students progress, lessons increasingly incorporate timed exercises to help them develop both accuracy and speed.

I have over three years of tutoring experience and have worked with students aged 4–16 across a range of abilities. Throughout this time, I have supported numerous pupils preparing for 11+ entrance examinations, helping them strengthen their skills and build confidence in the lead-up to their assessments.

My lessons are suitable for students aged 8-11 preparing for grammar school or independent school admissions, whether they are just beginning their preparation or looking for targeted support soon before their exam. My aim is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that allows every student to perform to the best of their ability.
