About Tristan

I have been tutoring since 2014, so have had experience helping pupils with a range of different, individual needs. Most commonly I have tutored pupils for their 11+, 13+, GCSE, and A Level examinations, though I also frequently provide more general support and have assisted with university admissions as well. I have helped pupils prepare for exams at schools such as St Paul's (my former school), Westminster, Eton, Emanuel, Merchant Taylors, Dulwich College and John Lyon. Especially with younger pupils taking 11+ exams I try to create a learning environment which is both relaxed yet also productive in order to help them prepare positively for what are likely their first exams.
I tutor a variety of GCSE and A Level subjects, most commonly helping pupils with History, German, English and Latin. I try to help pupils develop effective studying habits for the long-term as well as for their upcoming exams, to ensure that they achieve the grades they want, and that they can continue to develop having achieved them. I am also able to help older pupils with university admissions, in particular for Oxbridge. Having studied at both Oxford and Cambridge I am able to draw on significant experience within these environments and hopefully demystify the admissions process and lifestyle for prospective applicants.
I studied History and German for my undergraduate degree at Brasenose College, Oxford University and am currently studying for an MPhil in Modern European History at the University of Cambridge. Accordingly I am predominantly available for online tuition at present though I will also have time in London during vacation periods.
