About Monica
I am an experienced tutor with a strong background in chemistry, physics, and calculus. I hold a Master’s degree in chemistry with research experience in photophysical science and laser-based spectroscopy. From 2017 to 2024, I worked as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Assistant, and drop-in tutor, earning the 2023 Teaching Assistant Award for my dedication to students. I continue to tutor post-graduation because I truly enjoy helping students master challenging concepts. My lessons feature clear, visual explanations and are tailored to each learner’s unique style, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent.

Details
My tutoring rate is $30/hour because I offer more than just time spent in a session. I prepare extensively outside of meetings, creating personalized lessons, practice problems, and visual materials that students can keep and use long after our sessions. During my years in academia, I not only taught but also researched different learning styles, focusing on how to make general chemistry concepts specifically accessible to all types of students. Combined with my experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Assistant, and drop-in tutor, this background allows me to adapt to each student’s needs and provide high-quality, results-driven support.
