About Argiro

I am a professional tutor with more than ten years experience, educated in Greece and London. I am member of the Classical Association and the Association for Latin Teaching (ARLT), and keep myself updated by attending seminars organised by the exams boards (OCR, AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas).

I have been preparing students for 11+, Common Entrance 13+, GCSE, and A Level exams, for all exam boards .

At A-level and GCSE, my diverse experience ranges from mentoring high-achieving AS and A Level students on bespoke examination skills such as translating and analysing unseen text and essay technique, to assisting struggling GCSE students.

Private tuition helps students grow in knowledge and self-confidence. I believe that effective tutoring is about delivering complex concepts in simple terms with patience, enthusiasm and encouragement.

It is my responsibility, as a tutor not only to teach my students the necessary exam syllabus or exam content, but also to arm them with all the necessary tools they will need to enjoy taking their learning beyond our sessions.

About the lesson

For me, the greatest reward tutoring can offer is watching a student grow in knowledge but also self-confidence. I believe effective tutoring is about delivering complex concepts in simple terms with patience, enthusiasm and encouragement. Furthermore the students perform the best when they are engaged in what they are learning.

I believe that my responsibility as a tutor is not only to teach my students the necessary content, but also to arm them with all the necessary tools they will need to enjoy taking their learning far beyond our sessions.
