About Heather

Talking about myself is always one of the most difficult things to do! I have a habit, really more of a passion, for turning things that are personal interests into ways of helping other people or animals. I love that a few hours a week of my time can be a part of a positive influence on someone else's life. After 20 years of being a student and an assistant instructor, I decided to take the plunge and become fully accredited through an IAOTH school. I am a volunteer yoga teacher at my local Y. This allows me to work with people for whom this amazing discipline would not otherwise be accessible. I have volunteered at the SPCA and saw hundreds of cats go to their forever loving homes. Many of the adoptive "pet parents" are bringing home emotional support animals. On a personal level, to start getting to know me, I'm a huge lover of animals of all types. I am told that I have too many pets...I don't believe it. I enjoy swimming for my cardio exercise and I watch more YouTube than is probably good for me.

About the lesson

I could tell you all about my qualifications and experience. However, if you are here, you are looking for something beyond the typical textbook material. I do everything possible to safely personalize every class to help you meet your goals. Whether this be learning to finally land that elusive pose, or if you are just looking for a tailored practice sequence, I have you covered. All are welcome, I currently am teaching, all levels of mat Pilates. I also have my 500-hour instructor certificate through a Yoga Alliance studio. If you would like to add this complementary discipline to your practices, we can do that too.

I also offer 3 pack sessions for absolute beginners for the basics of Pilates. We will cover breathing, body alignment and the first initial skills. These sessions are 1 hour each. One 3 pack per student. Drop in classes are subject to availability. Please inquire for details
