About the lesson

Hi! I’m Kyla, a Deaf ASL tutor who understands both the challenges and beauty of communication across Deaf and hearing worlds. I teach American Sign Language and Filipino Sign Language with a strong focus on confidence, clarity, and real-life use.

My goal is simple: to help you communicate naturally, respectfully, and confidently with the Deaf community.

I provide personalized, engaging lessons focused on real-life communication, not just memorization. Every session is tailored to your pace, learning style, and goals, so you always feel supported and never overwhelmed.

Who I Teach:
I teach all ages such as children, teens, adults and all learning formats including:
• Solo learners
• Couples
• Best friends
• Groups or classes

Whether you’re Deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing, I can help you achieve your goals.

I’m currently teaching 11 students: 8 hearing students who are beginners, conversational and advanced and 3 Filipino Deaf students who are studying English subjects.

This allows me to understand the learning needs of both communities and bridge communication in a supportive, inclusive way.

I have
Formal experience teaching Deaf students
Community-based experience teaching hearing learners
Deep understanding of visual learning, accessibility, and Deaf culture

Because of this, I’m especially good at helping hearing learners understand ASL beyond memorization and helping Deaf learners feel seen, supported, and confident in English/ASL or FSL.
