About Jackson
My educational background is unique: I completed most of my schooling in Alberta, graduated high school with an international program, and hold a B.A. in English literature at Dalhousie University. I also recently completed a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning at McGill. I have also taken a variety of writing courses and can help students write humanities papers, essays, and other writing assignments not specifically related to English language arts.

My approach to tutoring is based on using each students' previous work and building towards specific areas of improvement. Eventually, students will write a draft of a text that demonstrates improvement in these areas. I also aim to help students develop learning and problem solving strategies which they can refine with ongoing work. Central my tutoring philosophy is that of helping students build motivation and metacognitive skills (ex. "how do I learn best?").
