About Shelley
I am a cheerful positive person who believes that every student can be reached and succeed. I am patient and celebrate every step my students take, big or small. I make students comfortable by getting to know them and letting them get to know me. Sometimes you just have to stop and listen and let others' voices be heard. I love teaching. It is not my job - it's my calling. I get to go to school every day and laugh and interact and be me.

I can reach visual, auditory, and kinetic learners. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I make and create my own sheets and games based upon student interests, not cookie cutter. My lessons include and opener (like a song or visual), a game (connected to the topic) and then the main lesson (explicit teaching). The final step is sharing time.
I currently teach Kindergarten/Early Years (ages 3, 4, 5, and 6 years) but have taught grade 2 and 3 in the past. At my school, for Literacy, I currently use UFLI and the Science of Reading with my class. For math I use Mathology along with my own program.g
I teach proper fine motor skills, like writing utensil grip, scissor grip, that allow success and accomplishment for our youngest learners.
