I tutor grades 1-5, starting with warm ups every session, as well as having reading practices:
1. First 10 minutes: simple conversational warm ups
2. Next 15 minutes: Go over last lesson's homework, helping the student with overcoming difficulties
3. Next 15 minutes: Simple/intermediate reading comprehension work, showing the student a story and completing questions, their predictions and retellings.
4. Next 10 minutes: Learning 3-5 new words and phrases from the reading and their meaning in context. I will ask students to use the words in sentences and conversations.
5. Next 10 minutes: Review of lesson. This is the time when we record progress and assign homework.
I also support students with school-homework help. Lessons are personalized, tailoring strategies to what fits best for each student.
Furthermore, I assign students homework every lesson, which allows them to solidify their skills learned in class.
