About Megan Van Alstine
Hi! I'm Megan, a certified ESL teacher who taught in Morocco for 3 years before studying International Development in Italy. I received my BSc from UBC in 2011 and have been travelling ever since. I've just returned to the island so I'm offering English lessons to the newcomers to our home!

My classes are based on immersion techniques using the Berlitz method, starting from what the student knows and continuing to build from there. I don't "teach" grammar or theory and I don't use translation, but instead I guide students to deeply understand the language by instinct, through conversation, reading, listening, and games.
