About Troy

My passion for the French language began through an early fascination with its sound, culture, and literature. Over the past 11 years of teaching French, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding learners from diverse backgrounds as they discover the joy of communicating in a new language. Helping students gain confidence and connect with French culture has become a deeply meaningful part of my journey. I teach with encouragement, patience, and a supportive approach that respects each student’s pace and learning style. I value making the language feel accessible and enjoyable, not intimidating. By adapting lessons to individual goals — whether travel, academics, personal interest, or fluency — I ensure each learner feels supported and inspired throughout their journey. Outside of teaching, I continue to explore French culture through reading, films, travel, and ongoing study. For me, teaching French is more than instruction — it is a way to open doors to new perspectives, relationships, and experiences. Seeing students grow in confidence and bring the language into their lives is incredibly rewarding.

About the lesson

My French lessons offer a warm and engaging environment where students gain confidence in communicating, exploring culture, and enjoying the beauty of the French language. I aim to make learning French feel natural, enjoyable, and conversational, while also providing clarity and structure so students progress steadily. Lessons blend language with culture, making the learning experience both meaningful and motivating.

Beginners learn essential vocabulary, everyday phrases, pronunciation, and foundational grammar through interactive exercises and real-life scenarios. Intermediate students develop conversational fluency, expand grammar knowledge, and strengthen listening, reading, and writing skills. Advanced learners work on refined communication, expression, cultural nuance, and exam or travel preparation. Lessons combine speaking, listening, reading, and writing with role-plays, dialogues, and cultural immersion to bring the language to life.

Students gain more than language skills — they develop cultural awareness, confidence, and enjoyment in expressing themselves in French. My goal is for learners to feel comfortable speaking in real-world situations, forming genuine connections with the language, and discovering the richness of Francophone culture.
