About Sophia

Hello! My name is Sophia, I am 19 years old and am in my second year of university. I've lived around the Greater Toronto Area my entire life. During my free time, I enjoy learning languages, putting together robots, sewing, and cooking. I adore working with kids, and helping them learn. I have taught public speaking at United Speakers, a non-profit youth organization, as well as teaching kids how to bike at a summer camp. I was also a part of the STEM club at school and I have competed in DECA nationals.

About the lesson

Whether your child needs a tutor to help them with complex math or physics problems, or walk them through brand-new concepts, I can help your child through these challenges. With 3 years of experience in tutoring high school kids in math and physics, I bring not only my expertise but also a passion for making learning an enjoyable and interactive experience. I believe that math and physicsshould be an active and engaging process, where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore different methods of problem solving, and build a strong foundational understanding. As a bright student myself, I have always enjoyed math and physics, having achieved a 95% average in Grade 12 IB Advanced Functions, 98% in Calculus and Vectors, and a 98% in Data Management. Additionally, I have achieved a 94% in University for Calc 1 and an 87% in Calc 2. Currently, I am studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and am currently in my second year.
