About Yuko

こんにちは（Hello!） I’m Yuko, a native Japanese speaker from Osaka. I used to work as a high school teacher in Japan, and I’m currently teaching Japanese as a foreign language to 5th and 6th graders at a language school. With over six years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the joy of teaching students from complete beginners to advanced learners. My goal is to create lessons that are friendly, supportive, and enjoyable while helping students build a strong foundation in Japanese language and culture. I love seeing my students gain confidence as they learn to express themselves naturally in Japanese. Whether you’re learning for school, travel, or personal interest, I’m here to guide you every step of the way!

About the lesson

My Approach as a Tutor I aim to make Japanese learning enjoyable and practical by focusing on communication, confidence, and cultural understanding. My lessons are always tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. Teaching Method and Techniques I combine structured instruction with interactive activities such as games, visuals, and real-life materials like songs and short videos. For younger learners, I use creative and movement-based tasks; for older students, I focus on writing, reading, and conversation practice. A Typical Lesson Plan Lessons start with a short review, followed by a focused topic—grammar, vocabulary, or culture—and end with practice and reflection. I assign light homework to help students review and retain what they’ve learned. What Sets Me Apart I bring patience, creativity, and flexibility to every class. With experience teaching both beginners and heritage speakers, I ensure lessons are supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented.
